Starting Units and Locations
Each Player starts with:
2 settlers
2 workers
2 warriors
1 scout
Except:
One player starts on the subcontinent and gets a boat instead
of a scout.
All settlers start on grassland with a river.

Techs:
Each player starts with 2 free techs, left behind by the ancient ones, you may find some ruins of their civilzation lying around.

My handicap:
Since I have set all this up, I have some knowledge of the world.
To offset this advantage I have no scout unit and start with only
1 free tech instead of 2.

Here is the player line-up. I will post a highlight of events
every millenium or so.

This game has paused for a few days because Stagnate is away
on an unexpected business trip. So I will take this opportunity
to summarize what has happened in Persia so far:

1. Built 2 cities, one of which is on the coast.

2. We popped 3 goodie huts, got 1 tech, 1 warrior, and 1 horde.

3. Found a site for our third city which has 3 WINES!! No idea
how I'm going to keep the citizens sober long enough to do any
work, but it will be great for trade.

4. Explored a lot of territory and made contact with the Germans.
This took a long, long time because our warrior had to cross the
mother of all jungles to get there. And once we made contact there was nothing we could trade!!!!

One final thing, I will be out of town from Dec 18 th to Dec 30th
so we will pause the game for the holidays, hopefully we can
get 1 or 2 more turns done before the 18th.

Happy holidays!

Holy Moly! Look at all that green land! Establish two cities along a river after moving for a turn to get optimal placement. The gods of tech even started me off with Iron-working, and Iron was on a mountain inside by soon-expanded cultural borders. (Warmongerers beware!) Immediately started on Pottery/Granary direction since it appears this will be a massive expansion effort for the first 3000 years. Also built some Warriors for protection and 2 more Scouts for exploring this massive land and taking true advantage of my Expansionist trait.

Then the freakish, unspeakably improbably good luck began. My four scouts discovered and popped a total of 14 huts so far, resulting in 8 free techs, 1 free city, 3 free Warriors, and 2 Maps. I was pleased at first, then got fairly worried that the "Cheating" word may appear upon my opponents lips (none of which I knew very well). I resolved to start giving away some techs as soon as I have made contact with everyone, to help level the playing field (and help reduce the size of the target on my back!)

Soon made contact with the Carthaginians, Chinese, and Ottomans. The "Mother of all Jungles" is directly to my east, along with 7!!! Spice sources. (Thank goodness for Industrious workers!)

You don't get "hordes" (barbs) when you are Expansionist. That is one of the advantages of the trait. The real luck is the high percentage of techs.

Alas, pity the poor Chinese! No such luck for the people of the Yellow River Valley. Barbarians alone greet us at huts, at the cost of one warrior and a scout. Stagnation seems to be the lot of our culture........
On the bright side our land is fertile and blessed with luxuries to soothe the angst of our people.

My fault for a 24 hour delay on this one. It seems the file I sent to Andvruss was corrupted for some reason.
On a side note, it seems the biggest delay in this game is the time gap between Andvruss and myself. It seems even if I get it and turn around and send it within 5 minutes, Andrvuss doesn't pick it up until 20+ hours later. :(

The Americans are greatly concerned a Chinese wounded warrior who has been camped out on a horse tile directly next to our newest city. He has been there for 3 turns. I fear we must ask them to move for the sake of peace between both our countries.
A gentle reminder: He will never heal since he is within our cultural borders. One must assume that since he is fortified, the Chinese Despot has forgotten all about his existence. ;)

The game has paused again because Mike moving an won't be available
for a week or more. So I will take this opportunity to summarize what
has happened in Persia since the last update in 3100 BC:

2600 BC

1. Built our third city, which is in the heart of wine country. The
inhabitants are very merry. Our worker is going flat out to
complete the road to the other cities.

2. We popped 1 hut, and got 1 horde. Destroyed a couple of
barbarian camps for the cash.

3. Made contact with the Egyptians. They are a sea-going folk and
one of our warriors spotted their galley off the east coast.

4. Concluded several tech swaps with the Germans and Egyptians.

History of America, Part 2.

The pace of advancement has slowed dramatically. There has only been 1 hut pop in the last 500 years (maps), despite having 3 Scouts and 4 warriors out wandering. Hearing rumors of unknown civilizations to the east, several intrepid explorers are beating dead east. It seems the center of this vast continent is largely empty of both Civilizations and Barbarians at this time.
We have found large deposits of Incense in the Desert, Gems in the Mountains to the North, and a few scattered Furs and Wines a fair distance away.

Back home, the Americans have almost completed a 4 turn settler factory (with major micro-managing). From the amount of open land around, this city should be cranking out settlers for the next 3000 years easy! A road is under construction to bring some much desired Spices to the bland American diet.

Of minor concern is a visiting bunch of uncouth Chinese single-brows who are fortified within a cities radius on some Horses. The populace is nervous because these brutes have running sores (which never heal) from a fight with some Barbarians, and the word "plague" is being uttered more and more. :)

Up to about 2300 BC

Somehow, not sure where or when one of our wandering
warriors made contact with the Americans. This opened up
a flood of negotiations with techs and contacts being
traded.

Things were quiet on the domestic side, roads were
built connecting all 3 cities.

2 huts were found resulting in 1 map and a horde.

I'll take that.
