You should visit regularly the Succession Game Registry! - IMPORTANT to find an SG at the level difficulty you want. More important, if you've never played an SG before, it is good to search for an TDG(Training Day Game), so there is a "Trainer" who guides you at your moves(at the same forum).

EDIT: You can always start your SG: all you need to do is to upload your starting position's save at the previous forum. Though, it's a good idea to read the articles in the War Academy first, because you'll gain invaluable experience for the game. Those articles have been written by some of the best Civ3 players.

I'm running a TDG if you'd like to check it out & pick up some pointers.

As for making/joining a SG, I'd recommend looking for a Warlord or even better a Regent game. Because you're only playing 10 turns at a time & don't want to let anyone down, you have a tendancy to play alot better in SGs then normal games(pay more attention, MM more, check diplo every turn, ect ect.)

Good luck on finding one & welcome to true addiction! I didn't know how much fun Civ could be till I joined an SG, and I very rarely play a game now that's not a SG.
