Hi there

As the title says, i'm looking for alpha centauri players. Great game isn't it? Alpha Centauri is artistic, creative, imaginative and strategic. Even after 7-8 years, i'm still attracted by that game.

I'm dreaming of a big game with human players (computers are truly stupid, at the moment you get Doctrine: Airpower, they become innofensive)

So if anyone wants to take the challenge, send me a mail, it could be very cool to play, even if we're not many... I'm an experienced player and i find the single player mode intensively easy.

For the pleasure!
Élian

Salut!

We had a succession game going at a new site called Centauri Preserve (see the link in my sig. But it is getting difficult to get enough AC fans in one place anymore.

Apparently it's all PBEM over there, is there any place where people are trying to play online? Or doesn't that work too well?
If someone wants to try I'd be interested, although I'm not *that* good (still struggling on transcend).

There are problems with MP I found with my brother...mainly that datalinks are just too invasive and thus powerful. No way to hide weakness or your intentions if they are allowed in the game.

Thanks for the answers, Keroro, Petek, Kittenofchaos, and Thrar.

We can also play by TCP-IP (i never tried to play by Email, so i don't know how it works). TCP-IP can take many players playing at the same time simultaneously, so the game get faster.http://forums.civfanatics.com/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Would you like to try a TCP-IP SMAC(original) game?

I'll try to wait some time for other players. I've posted a thread on Centauri Preserve http://centauripreserve.selfip.net/. Maybe we can fix a time next week for a game. We should decide on wich version of SMAC we shall play (the newer version of SMAC respect the police on the social engeneering table, but chairman Yang is truly too strong in this version. He has Planned economics AND Police state free, without penalties.) I propose the original version of SMAC without any patch.

Mail me at: Eldramatico@yahoo.ca

If you want, give me the times you could possibly play
So, who's on for a game next week?

Élian

I'd prefer SMAX, since I haven't played SMAC in ages and would probably miss some things. I don't know about Yang, what's the difference between the two versions? Didn't he have the no inefficiency in SMAC?
I'd rather see Yang banned from the game than playing SMAC, if he's a problem.

Another thing, is there any problem with using games in different languages? Mine is German (patched to 2.0), does that work fine with English games in a network game?

As for game times: Where are we all from? If we have people from all kinds of time zones it's probably difficult. I'd be available Monday and Thursday basically all day at GMT+2, but on Tuesday/Wednesday busy in the evening. From Friday to Monday at least I'm not available at all.
