Hello all,

Believe it or not, I'm new to the Civilization franchise, being newly converted by the Chronicles package. I can't believe, I missed these games, but I'm glad I finally found them. Best games I've ever played, and I'm completely addicted! :p

Anyway, I feel like someone who missed the party, and I'm trying like mad to catch up. The Chronicles package is fantastic, except for the lack of manuals! Sorry but the PDF versions just don't cut it.

I've started collecting the original manuals, and so far I have the Civ II manual, the Fantastic Worlds expansion manual, the Test of Time manual, and all the manuals for Civ III & IV (original manuals + expansions).

So I'm still missing the Civ II: Conflicts in Civilization expansion manual, and the manual for the original Civ. (At least I think that's all I'm missing...)

I'd rather not pay $30 + s/h each for these, when all I'm really after is the manuals. So does anyone have manuals for Civ I and/or Civ II: Conflicts in Civilization that they would be willing to part with? If so please contact me and we'll see if we can work something out. Thanks!

I have an extra copy of the CivNet manual. It's the first Sid Meier's civilization game but with multiplayer added and its for windows instead of dos. But the instructions would still apply to the original game.

Interesting. So far I have the manual for the original game, Civ II, Civ II: Conficts in Civilization Scenarios (more of a pamphlet really), Civ II Fantastic Worlds, Civ II: Test of Time, Civ III, Civ III: Play the World, Civ III: Conquests, Civ IV, Civ IV: Warlords, and Civ IV: Beyond the Sword.

So I think my collection is nearly complete. I don't have the CivNet manual yet. (I may be interested if you're willing to sell the extra manual you have.) Was there a specific manual for Civ II Multiplayer Gold? Is there some other version of Civ I'm missing?

There was a differnet manual for Civ II gold yes.

Are you just collecting manuals for any civ games or just the ones in The Chronicles? The reason I ask is because I dont think civnet is in that set. But anyways , I won't sell the manual, if you want it you can just have it. Just cover the postage.

Well at this point it seems like I should just get them all. :groucho:

Am I only missing the manual to CivNet and Civ II Multiplayer Gold, then?

Any estimate on shipping cost? (Thanks! btw)

A pity but I lost all the manuals of my old games (DOS), still I am managing :)!

PEACE!!!

I'd be happy even with a PDF of the CIV II Gold Edition Manual.

Only to get the scenario editor advice.

I’ve got PDF manuals for vanilla Civ2 (which won’t have any scenario design stuff) and Civ2: Test of Time. The latter is hosted here. Pages 189-193 cover the Cheat menu, which is the same as MGE. My advice is use the Cheat menu, but avoid the scenario editor – it’s buggy. It’s better to edit the text and graphics files directly.

For information on scenario editing, try the following places:
CFC's Civ2 Reference section
The Scenario League's Design Tips section
