Lord of the Rings Scenario?

Hmm, lets see if i screwed that up...

I'm new to this thing, so i don't know if i already posted this thread... Well, what i wanted to ask is if anyone could make a scenario about the Lord of the Rings... I am not a wizard with civ 2, but i know that many out there have experience... (i've learnt through playing your great scenarios) So why not try to make another lord of the rings scenario than the one thats already in the download section?

There's a newer version of the LOTR scenario by Harlan Thompson, namely version 4.1 (which is rather old now too).

It isn't entirely new, but it may be enough for you to last a bit longer.
I thought some people were working on a LOTR scenario for Civ2 ToT, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. And if you don't have ToT that won't be of any interest to you anyway.

Look in the 'Civ 2 Downloads' section of this website, and look under Fantasy Scenarios. I did. There is at least one good one there.

Blame it on 40 pages worth of blank papers falling on me with the mention "return filled with inteligent and well-informed writing to various teachers or failyou classes".

I swear, if I hear of Confucius and Mattero Ricci, or japanesse schoolbooks, or any of that gain, I'll commit a murder. Or two.

And I still have that massive 20 pages project on oil in southeast asia left to finish...

In other words, don't excpect much from me until late april, possibly later. Uni and designer's block are being a bit too hard on me now...Still, I'll try to do some work on it soon.

Hi,
Odd to see that someone else has been working on a Lord of the Rings scenario. It's a shame it's stalled - but, creating a scenario is a time consuming and energy draining business. Nonetheless, I've just completely mine - a Lord of the Rings scenario. It's a three part adventure. It's taken around three to four months to create: completely different to anything I've seen before; all new units; all new terrain graphics.
I'd like to know how I go about making it available for people here to play and review.
Can anyone help?

Usually people will post graphics from their creation first and maybe get a few test players before sending in the final version.

I didn't know there was a set, or recommended, way of going about scenario release. I just thought, "I'll make a LotR scenario" and got on with it. I've playtested it a great deal already and am happy enough to release it.
Of course, if people find problems with it, I can always update and bring out a newer version.
I'll send the files in later and hopefully anyone who wants to give them a try can.
BTW: The scenario is called, "Moria: A Journey in the Dark". Can you guess what it's about?

Have u tried Hurin's J.R.R. Tolkien's Dagor Bragollach: The Battle of Sudden Flame v4.02 scenario? It looks pretty cool. He even created a nice site for it.

Yes. I played that a while ago. It was one of my initial inspirations to doing a scenario. I've since played all the Civ2 LotR scenarios (except the one by AndrewG just put up recently - looking forward to that!)
I got a list from somewhere that shows all the scenario's available:
