Hey all,
I am a new user of civ fanatics. I love almost all of the things i find to down load but im having a bit of a problem finding the files where the downloaded items should go.like in the custom assets folders.

I downloaded alternate civ diplomacy music and no matter where i put it it wont play in the game. I can put mods in the only problem i have with it is im having trouble with telling what mods are for Warlords.-confusing--

any and all help would be much appreciated:D
-thanks-

I'm surprised no one has helped you. I don't remember much about warlords. Warlords was nice but BtS was such an improvement I forgot it immediately.
Even then though, you didn't really have to use CustomAssets and I think for this the BtS system would work.

With BtS you don't use custom assets folders, you just take the whole mod
(the folder containing intended substitutes in a directory structure parallelling that in
C:/ProgramFiles/Firaxis/CivIV/BeyondTheSword/)
and put it in
C:/ProgramFiles/Firaxis/CivIV/BeyondTheSword/Mods/

So if all you have is an asset like diplomacy music, it was probably intended to be used as part of a mod, so to use it you basically have to make a mod. You have to look through the folders and find out where the original diplomacy music lives, then make a folder in Mods that has the same structure and place your substitute music in that location. Then you can play that as a mod. Advanced, play mod...

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Sounds\Diplomacy

is where the original stuff lives, so your mod would put it in

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods/MyMod/Assets\Sounds\Diplomacy/

(pardon the slashes, I copied from properties). If there is nothing in the standard game structure with the same name as what you downloaded, there will also probably be some XML work involved.
