Low-Power Sufficent Graphics Card

Actually, I found a low profile 5670 and ordered one. Shipping costs are crazy but this is the only retailer I can find that stocks it.

Thanks for the advice Mark. You've been a big help. Thankfully Civ 5 works now just really choppy with the integrated graphics. So looking forward to a smoother Civ 5 in a week or so when I get my new card.

The low profile HD 5670 works wonderfully! The game looks great, and hardly any graphics issues. The only thing I notice is that when I load a savegame and scroll around the map for the first time the terrain looks bland until the graphics catch up and load the textures, but this isn't ever a problem during the game after that, and it doesn't cause any stuttering or unresponsiveness.

I recommend this card if you need a low profile card. I think it's also the only low profile card that supports DX11. But try to find another retailer because the shipping charges from AVA Direct are highway robbery.

sweet, glad you got it running smoothly. also, the terrain textures thing happens to everyone. even my 5870 gets it, just not as bad as my 5670.

Hopefully other retails are stocking it now. I was very worried for you as I've had etailers sell me stuff only for it to be a pre-order item and waited for weeks for the product to arrive.
