I won't post the url of this site, since that could be contrued to be advertising. It allows you to get software at very low prices, and you get $5.00 off if you get it via download. But if you choose to check out, the "terms and conditions" require you to turn off your firewall while dowloading. Are people really that gullible? Not me. Obviously I can download without turning off my firewall, and I can't think of any legitimate reason for doing so.

Has anybody seen such a weird "terms and conditions" before?

I have never heard of that before.

I think I may know a reason though. If you pay to download it, then you do not turn off your firewall, it may interfere with the download somehow.

Of course then you may compalin to them. And at the point you say your firewall is turned on, they can say "well, its your problem then, you violated the terms" instead of trying to fix it over the phone which could be time consuming.

The short and the sweet of it... they don't want to take on the responsibility of troubleshooting a firewall. Especially if the end-user does not understand how to use it.

What is the link to the site? I want to check it out.
