But what I mean is that Pallen is a name derived from a word that means something similar to what the named object is supposed to do, but in this case the word basically transforms into a name. Just cause Fredrik means peaceful in swedish, or Lord of Peace in it's original form, doesn't mean I call myself Rich of Peace when I go to England.

Fredrik, Frederick, Friedrich, Frédéric, Fryderyk ... these are all "translations" so it is possible to "translate" names and keep the meaning. That you don't call yourself Friederich when you come to germany is out of question, but I will call a german boy Friedrich and not Fredrik... That's all about with the translation of FfH. Though I understand what you mean.

Is gridlines still an available building in the newer patches? I thought it incredibly useful, especially since the Luchirp do not get longbows. Are the gargoyle's city defense bonus meant to make up for this?
