This is a short question, but do building lumbercamps over forest/ rainforest contribute to global warming?

Improvements themselves don't actually contribute to global warming. Use of Strategic Resource (namely Coal, Uranium and Oil) does however.

Just to add to the list. Units that use fossil fuels (per turn) also contribute to global warming. Railroads also contribute a one time amount per railroad constructed.

What about chopping forest/ rainforest? I think I read somewhere that chopping those tiles will contribute to global warming later in the game.

What about chopping forest.

Indeed it does. If the setting have not changed in the last patch the earth is on a minus global warming factor until 20% of the world is deforested.
