Man, I love that sig line. Your creation?

been away from the forum for a while - depressed over PTW I guess
Understandable. They haven't written us off yet, though.
As for me, I've been blowing far too much time in the off-topic gladiator pits (...while waiting for Brad's miracle, of course).

I don't use OS X template because smilies animations doesn't work with it.
Happens to me too, on occasion. I've used the Omnibrowser and Exploder, and they work most of the time... I still think they need to steal some more emoticons from 'Poly...

So, what... I think I'm #21.

22, shogoth.

i'm really happy i've got a working apple IIe at home, it makes fun to see my old basic programs running from time to time...

24. Tomvos,

still feeling hopeful for our PTW, 1.29f and the editor.

although with some of the latest PTW reports, maybe I am not missing out on that much.......

Yeah, I've read a few. Pretty harsh words coming in.
All the better that we get the bug buffer zone before they do the right thing. They will do the right thing, right...? Right? ;)

Re: The PTW reports. Made me feel slightly better. Although I realised I don't want PTW for multiplayer -- I want it for the new tilesets; the units; the new action icons; for airbases and radar; for patch parity; for novelty and expandability in a game that I would like to keep playing.

The mere name brings a shudder. Unbelievable he got off so scott-free after being found guilty of monopolistic practices. As you reinstall, what... 2000? As the drive whirrs away, as the minutes tick by, consider this: why wasn't Amnesty International in on the suit against MS? What they're doing to Windows folk is cruel and unusual.

I'm playing PTW on my toshiba....., disregard any negative reviews if your focus is SP. The game rocks! The negative reviews have more to do w/ MP issues, which we all know will be cleaned up.

Not sure if Henrik (veteran Mac Civ2 scenario designer) has moved over to Civ3 yet... ?

---

Had the following reply last week (6/11/02) from MacSoft re. the Mac Civ3 Editor..

"There are plans for a Civ 3 Editor. Although it has turned out to be a much larger undertaking than we had anticipated, we are still working on it and it will be available as a free download when completed."

So... still no date....

Thought I'd check up on the civ 3 forums some, and coincidently just as I was being mentioned it seems :D

No I have not moved on to civ 3, after getting it and playing it I must say I was dissapointed :(

Believe it or not, I still feel civ 2 is superior to civ 3, as it has so many things its succesor lacks.

Civ 3 just isn't fun the way civ 2 is :(

And reading up on ptw, negative reviews aside, it still wont allow for any form of serious scenario creation the way civ 2 does, I am not holding my breath waiting for a mac version ;)

I do use the mac os x style for the forums though :)

(smiley animations works fine for me using mozilla)...

I think I left my IIe to the Naval Apprenticeship Training school when I got transferred out of Orlando. Still have my ][c+ and my black Bell and Howell ][+.. I also run a couple of Apple ][ emulators on my G3 right now.. am waiting for the Mac OSX version of Bernie ][ the rescue. Classic is just too slow if I want to play Battletech, Ultima, or Pirates!

(Anyone else from the Apple ][ crowd remember Akalabeth... the game BASIC Apple game that grew up to become Ultima?)

Hi Henrik,

I have to agree with you here ! Whilst I've really enjoyed playing Civ3 (as I am at the moment, on one of my Macs) I keep going back to some of the great Civ2 scenarios (Cross & Crescent, Second Front, Cruel Sea, Great Napoleonic Battles, etc) and realise how much I miss all this in Civ3...

If things carry on the way they are (i.e. no Mac Civ3 editor) I can see myself going back to playing Civ2 pretty much exclusively.

Fruno

If Henrik was 30, then I guess I'm 31. I'd get PTW for Mac without hesitation, though, scenario editor or not. I want to play multiplayer with CFC's "Julio", who uses a Mac, lives with me, and is therefore #32 on the list.
