MacOS: XML Load Error "crash"

Hi folks,

my first post...

got civ4 from aspyr in /Applications/Civilization IV ("foldered" structure, not an .app file)
beyond the sword version 3.19
all vanilla mods work fine

downloaded caveman 2 cosmos few days ago (v 25), unpacked and put in Mods folder of Beyond the Sword.

Upon loading the mod, get the following error:
XML Load Error
Failed Loading XML file xml\text\meteorology_gametexts.xml
[/AspyrBuild/depot/Civ4/Source BTS/Win/FirePlace/FireWorks/Win32/FXml.cpp:140]
Error parsing XML File ...

followed by a thousand of similar errors (did not go through all of them, just force quit the game), of different XMLs but with the same hint FXml.cpp:140

tried to fix permissions, but no success

system: macbook pro duo; macos 10.7.4

what do?

Macs can not use mods with custom DLLs, so you are out of luck running C2C.
