Make a great Healer

Since all great healer aren't named and use other great person image and text the community need to create some for the modder to add them in the game someday.

That brings up a good point... are the great people names, images, and background quotes restricted to Erebus mythology only? The community could do well by adding a bunch to the the game based on their favorite fandom. Plus everybody loves easter eggs.

While I like the idea I feel that most character would probably not fit the game. Not sure I want to see chopper (One Piece) or Unohana (Bleach 4th division captain) as a great healer. But if you have an idea that fit in the erebus universe go for it.

Let's make them, remember that the great person usually comes from the diverse civilisation and should fit Erebus as most as possible

The healer need an image a name and at least one line of text; a quote or a story

Baeynrae (inspired by archos)

Start with Prophetic visions ?

She was the first mortal to encounter mother, before the age of ice, as an ljosalfar child. She was lost and took shelter in a cave for a night, when she awaken the entrance had colapsed. Surviving on insect and strange glowing mushroom she started hallucinating beautiful dancing light. She wandered the caves for weeks before following her hallucination in the mother's nest. There, she was slowly eaten by spider until one day mother herself claimed her barely alive body. Many small spider entered her and then everything went dark. The mother saw something in this child and intended to use her as a broodmother but the age of ice came before her transformation could be finished. She's slept in her egg for century and today, she hatched. Calling herself Baeynrae she maintened part of her personnality but her altered mind now have an urge to take care of something. Something she will soon she as her childs.

Baeynrae's original name is lost to time. She was the first mortal to encounter Mother before the Age of Ice. Lost and alone, the child took shelter in Nephila Clavata. What was supposed to be a evening became an eternity for when she awoke the entrance had collapsed. Forced to survive on insects and eerily glowing mushrooms, she began to hallucinate beautiful visions of a dancing and impossible future. She foresaw an age far beyond now… an age of rebirth. She wandered the cavern, endlessly following her fevered dreams until she came upon Mother's Nest. Mother bore the visage of a guardian angel and the child embraced her. The dream became a nightmare. The monstrous spider pierced her body and consumed her slowly. Swarms of spiders crawled into the open wounds and hollowed out the husk of her body. Her endless nightmare bore on as Mother watched intently. The future rained fire, children cried blood, and a dead god was reincarnated upon an altar of ice. The child dreamt of a far future and Mother saw fit to keep her until the vision was ready to be realized.

Cocooned for eons now, she has finally hatched. Styling herself Baeynrae, her mind was altered to a point where she have trouble discerning the present from the future. She is compelled toward something. Something she see as her children.

I'm not prepared to agree that Chopper or Unohana couldn't find a home in FF2. I say this because the mod draws on some broad inspirations. Just off the top of my head, the Grigori city names are from the Final Fantasy series, and there is a chain of events in Rife which led one to acquire the Tirforce.

However, I think the mod follows a certain artistic distinction away from of anime. Not to mention the dark/sinister style of the game itself.

Chopper will not likely find a place given that second requirement.

Unohana, if placed in the right context, could make find a nice addition.

The reference doesn't need to be overt either. Unohana means rabbit and represented east on the Chinese zodiac, I believe. So a GP name like "The Rabbit Queen" or "The Eastern Star" or (because many of the names in FFH2 appear to be of Greek origin) "Kouneli the Healer"

There's is a lot of easter egg like that in RiFE just in the rank for example Chutlu, tyrion lannister, cloud, elric, tom bombadil, minsc, link...etc

I think that most story wouldn't fit the universe but if you just want to use their portrait I don't see why not as long as the art fit. Most of the leader/great person image seem to have been took from the web. For example, I remember seing Liliana Vess from magic the gathering but with a different name and story.

I thought it would neat to tie this little story into a world feature that worked similarly to Letum Frigus, where is the Archos discovered it, they could pickup some trait. The world feature could spawn spiders.

Perfect, I'm not a writer myself and I feel you got the idea really well.

I'm for a new wonder but if it's done, it should be something different than a trait. Maybe a free promotion for each archos unit (or archos spider) exploring it before they cast their world spell. Introducing a nice small mechanic for the archos agressive early gameplay. Other civilisation would get random result, usually an agressive spider or unit lost with very rare good result. Maybe a low chance (1~2%) to get that specific great healer if no one created it. Also infinite exploration.

Agares returned to Nyx and destroyed everything therein, every creature he created, every monument constructed, every glorious thought and idea. Everything save but a single, insignificant spider. It is said that the spider crawled her way to the surface and entered Erebus through the Nephila Clavata. Here the spider hung and spun her silk. Once in a great while a creature would seek refuge in the cavern and the spider would sustain herself on its flesh. In a single bite, she experienced all of its memories… needs, aspirations, desires, corruptions, aversions, and torments. One day she consumed a child of Ljosalfar and experienced memories of the future. With this knowledge, she burrowed deep into the earth to await an age of rebirth.

As for the effect, I'm thinking non-Archos Civilizations can treat it like any other epic lair with a slant toward Spider-type encounters. Archos non-spider units can be turned into research (sort of like an early, Archos only Demon Altar). Archos spider units... maybe a promo for more combat experience?

Since archos start with no technology and have 2 research building blocked there's probably more lore-friendly effect that could be used. What do you think about THIS

- "Something she see as her children" (That's what I originally wanted to write. "will soon" make little sense if she can see the future)

Hope we won't work as much on every great healer, we still have a lot to do
