Make the Map a graphic file!

Here's a utility I'd love to see. The ability to take a map from a saved game or a .bic and turn it into a .gif or .pcx file for viewing, planning or maybe a desktop wallpaper.

If any of you creative programmers come up with this, that'd be great.

How do the .sav and .bic files save map info? Any ideas or similar programs to help me do this myself if I get motivate?
