Malakim and Religion

Ah, but you see the god they worship is essentially a neutral god. He's just asleep, and the Octopus Overlords are distorting his dreams into nightmares. So if the god should ever awaken, his religion has a potential of being purged and turning to true neutral.

A wild idea: what if a civ with OO as an imported national religion were able to build something that 'wakes' Danalin and wreaks havoc in the civ that has the OO holy city? Sort of like an exterior Purge of the Unfaithful. (Wouldn't that be just evil, from a gameplay point of view?:mischief:) Maybe as a consequence the OO can then be replaced with a new religion worshiping the awakened Danalin.

Actually, now that I've thought about it, it would be like 'stealing' someone's religion and leaving a mess behind.

A wild idea, as I said. :)

Yes. While Lucius ideas are well thought out for flavor and consistent with the design, I think, it'd be REALLY hard to have 21 religions and have meaningful differences in game.

I think you misunderstood my intent.

Apart from the fact that 7 concurrent religions is actually the way to go in my own oppinion (specially for the usual play setup I use, with 18 civs&Huge map), I am not actually demanding all this... stuff to be implemented, in any remotely similar way, even.

I just found a post by Kael somewhere stating the idea of having one religion per sphere, but only 7 founding religion techs, and I started to think about it... sort of a what if, based on the background info I had been reading from the Fall From Heaving setting.

Thus... I just started to get worked up and try to expose a kind of 'what if'. I was well aware that nothing at all could be used... or even that it should be actually used (for example, there may have been some deep incoherence in the whole background that I had misunderstood and would have made it completely unworkable for the dev team, in the first place).

Apart from having fun writting it (and I had), I guess that if only you would find any of the multiple theme ideas in the post useful or inspiring (the religion groups and organization, the themes for the spheres/angels, etc...), that would be far more than enough for my own self-pride  .
