This is version 1.0 of the map of Sosaria. For those who have never played any of the Ultima series, this is the map where all ultima series based on. This is a huge map (180x180) for 8 players (to simulate the 8 city states of Ultima). I will expend it to 12 players and correct start position when I come around to make a scenario base on this map. ;)

Here is the view of the map using Gramphos' Civ3MultiTool's minimap feature. :)

Yup, the main reason is because I am still playing UO (after 4 years  ) and I can't seems to find my old cloth map for the other Ultima games anywhere (starting from Ultima 4 ;) ). In fact, I seems to misplaced all my old Ultima stuff somewhere (the moonstone, ankh, oh well) :p

cool i been on uo for the past 2 and 1/2 years, boy do i miss the good ol days before trammel... lol anyway what shard u play on? i am on cheaspeake... ok enough of that i been playing civilization since 2 first came out and can't get enough of it lol
maybe with this map u could make a mod where u name the civ's after each city and start them at each cities starting location... sorta like for minocians or something for minoc lol.... just an idea..

Just a short note to say Ive been playing UO a little over 4 years now too. LS and Catskills.

I might be able to dig up a Ultima 3D map (is this the right name?) from early nineties. I really mean dig up 'cause most floppy based games are far away form my comp.

MMM
It is well done, except for Minoc territory (where are the mountains?), Moonglow shape is wrong, there's too much sea around the continent, and other little things.
Unfortunately, with this editor it's impossible to do a nice mod like we used to do with civ2, with the file events.txt and the cities placed with the cheat editor.
So I can't bring on civ3 my UO scenario. :(

Well I found the original UO cloth map when I first bought the game 5 years ago lol!!

Your map is great, Minoc looks a little different though...:crazyeyes

Good Luck!

Ok, first thing first, I already tried as close as possible to get the right shape for the various island and land mass. In fact, Moonglow looks alright when the map is not tilted. ;)

As to the mountains around Minoc, they are there. But as the map is only 180x180, its kinda hard to show a big mass of mountain near Minoc (I know, I know, its the famous place for mining and PKs before Trammel is available :) ). I must maintain the ratio of mountains around Britain and then compare those around Minoc with it.

And for those who are interested, I play on both Catskills and Pacific. Of course, if you know me on UO then you already know about the name Dark Sheer  And the same name is used on both Catskills and Pacific. You won't be able to see me in UO at the moment as I am in China and have no access to UO until I am back in Malaysia (in April :p ).

Hmm...I played UO for 4 years on Pac...I dont believe I ever met a Dark Sheer....I sold my account but my name was Dragoten....

Ah, perhaps you met have met a GM Smith by the name of Bumba? I only created Dark Sheer on Pacific for about 2 years (3 years on Catskills as DS is a GM Smith on Cats but a GM Mage on Pac :D ) while I used another warrior by the name of Midnight Jackal ;)

i beta tested UO, it's the reason i'm not playing now... too many bugs... ('course they're probably all fixed now).... i noticed a definate downturn in the quality of the ultima games after EA bought out origin...

oh, i also found C64 versions of ultimas 1, 3 and 5 at a local goodwill for 2$ apiece, and the cloth maps were included

Dang! $2 a piece? I paid about $50 each for them. Can't remember the exact amount as I remember I ordered U4 & U5 from UK (when origin is still a UK company :) ). And of course UO is straying more and more away from the original Ultima universe. With the latest instalment (Blackthorn's Revenge) which I believe is already released sometime last week in US (I haven't even order it yet as I am in china now and can't play UO), you can now expect mechanical monsters that is created by the creator of Spawn. :D

Still, I believe UO is still one of the best MMRPG around at the moment. ;)

This thread is no longer on the topic of civ3 so I think I will start an argument by saying...

Lineage is better than UO :crazyeyes

I played for two years on Atlantic, even managed to be able to buy a sandstone near the Yew crypts. Finally sold my account, I was so addicted that I was getting nothing done. I had a great bard and was close to GMing lockpicking, made loads of gold that way. Spent lots of time theiving from factioners, stealing their hard earned silver. Seeing posts like this make me really miss the game, but I think some of the changes I have seen taking place do not really appeal to me.

lol! and I thought I was going crazy while I was playing with Sosaria as a civ by itself. :)
