Is it a good idea to trade territory or world maps when AI civs ask? Its seem that it keeps them happy but Im not sure. Their "deals" are always so unfair I dont trust em.
I don't bother trying to get their maps, but sometimes it's enough to make a deal acceptable to them. I also don't worry too much about whether the AI gets my maps.
If I have opened area later in the game from taking towns, I do not want the maps given. Unless I am willing to attack any possible landings with settlers. If I have no place for them to land and found a town, then I don't care.
Remember they know the disposition of units and resources, but not the routing. That is why I strive to prevent scouts from getting behind my land. I do not want them to send in settlers early in the game, if I can avoid it.
If you're on a continent, don't show them where to land the settlers.
If you're continent is covered with culture, go ahead, it doesn't matter as long as you defend well from landings.
In land maps, don't show the area behind you early on. They'll go there with settlers.
For the rest, if you trade it to one, trade it to all - the AI will trade in between turns. Same as with Techs. They will sell it among each other (assuming they have contact).
