We should notify our desires to the mapmaker, what type of land and sea we want.

We should ask for a map that does not discriminate

We should go for something resembling "Terra", with a new world, and an old world divided by ocean, with all civs starting in the old world, or for continents with islands not divided by ocean.

We want a large map with standard ocean or standard map with low ocean.

Otherwise, we would have balanced starts, but not necessarily linked

Actually I thought Dave already put us down in general for "mapmaker's call." But basically I support having some diversity - not a straight Pangaea, something tectonics/highland/diff continents. I would not specify terra myself, but I'm still flexible. Given what other teams said I think it's already going to end up left to the mapmaker, to create mostly balanced starts on a non-flat, pure-land map. No one really voted for artificial wheels or donuts or hubs or such.

I think having a main continent for all 6 civs, as well as some islands around it would be good, possibly 3 larger islands (2 to compete for each island) or 2 larger islands (3 to compete for each).

Without water usage, half of the game interest is gone, due to maritime civs. This was the problem with the last game.
