Mass Upgrade?

I have been playing Civ3 since January and i constantly discover new things. (i didn't read the manual) How does one mass upgrade? I saw a screenshot in one of Sirian's chronicals of a RBC Epic. It allowed him to upgrade all 63 of his riflemen to infantry in one order. How does one do this?

Shift-U

To expand - activate one of the units of the type you wish to upgrade in a city then do the shift+U - this will upgrade all units of the same type as long as they are in a city with barracks (if the unit is in th open or in a city with no barracks it will not be upgraded).

Leonardo's workshop wonder will halve the cost of upgrading units.
