Ladies & Gents,
I realize that I have only a few months of Civ4:BtS gameplay left until Civ5 is released (which I look forward to!). But I have a lingering Civ4 question. I've been playing Civ since Civ3 many years ago and am a capable intermediate player. But I have never really cracked the code on managing cities beyond simply choosing which tiles get worked and choosing to "emphasize production" or "emphasize food" etc. for that city. I know you can tweak the number of specialists and such but I haven't found a strategy article dedicated to maximizing your cities. I'm guessing I've overlooked a thread on this. There are a few threads discussing different strategies on how to specialize entire cities like SlobberinBears "Introduction to City Placement and Specialization" or "City Specialization: Where do I do it?" by OTAKUjbski. I have not found a post on how and why to choose specialists and how to best maximize each city. Does anyone have an idea or opinion?

what do you mean for "maximizing"? you want BIG cities full of pop, maximum production citie.... what does it mean?

and write in normal font pls... it's annoying

I suspect you may need to read up on the economy, and selecting a type of economy to play. That's [one of] the main pre-reqs to deciding how to config your earlier cities.

You don't max your cities individually, you max your empire--your cities then need to support that overall strategy.

Well damnit! Just when I thought I read a new kick-ass strategy article, I find out it isn't.

Thanks for the heads-up Vanatteveldt!
