Alright. I'm hoping to actually finish this game. I usually start these games and get bored simply because, marathon games take forever. Here's my settings:
Maya, Deity, Pangaea, Large, Marathon
I am warning you I am not a deity player so I am bound to die halfway through but that's where you come in. If you have any advice on what I should do next between updates, post and let me know. I could use the help.
Turns 0-50
So starting off I find myself surrounded by alot of good stuff! 2 Camps and 2 Truffles with some Dyes to the NE. I move the Warrior across the river to the desert to see if there is anything over there... just more desert. I settle in place. My first order of business is getting a Pyramid. That +2 Science/Faith will be indispensable. Monument goes up in the capital.
I scout with my warrior and meet china to the west. A little too close for comfort but hopefully she's not land locked. That coast isn't too comforting though. I had thought of settling on the river coast tile but that may be a bad move now. I am thankfully able to snag the ruin before China's scout and get Mining, YAY! I get two more ruins to the northeast and further east for a Weapon Upgrade and +1 population! Yes! Those rule on Marathon. I totally space meeting that CS and head south instead.
I come across Sweden to the west and head south. A little later he asks for an embassy with compensation. I agree as I will need the gold eventually and when I feel like getting an embassy from him 25g will be nothing. Rounding the mountains SW of my capital if find a possible location for my 2nd city, either right under those 3 mountains or on that hill by the river. I also meet Manila and a little further and directly south of my capital I find Rio. Also a Pantheon is founded super early. Its either Ethiopia or the Celts. My money is on Ethiopia.
Pottery finishes so I switch to getting that Pyramid out ASAP. Continuing SW I find China. She looks to be landlocked like I feared but doesn't covet me so I suspect there is more land behind her... and she can have it. Another Pantheon is formed. Thankfully none of the ones I want have been chosen (Goddess of the Hunt, Messenger of the Gods or Goddess of Love). My first Social Policy comes up and I decide to go with Liberty. I'm thinking Worker first since I need one badly and none of the CS have one out for me to steal yet. If I can nab one then Ill go with the Settler route.
Heading back north I meet Sidon, Askia and another CS that I forgot to SS and can't remember. A third Pantheon is formed and my preferred three are still safe. I also find my new 2nd city location. It has a River, 2 Truffles, 1 Deer, 2 Incense and Stone. Its great and its away form China no no worries there... hopefully.
So what should I do next? I plan on expanding to my North and SW and sitting sight for the moment. I still haven't decided whether to go for a Science or Domination victory. Either one is feasible and Domination would happen in the process of a science victory anyways. I'm also gonna probably do these in 150-200 turn chunks from now on.
Ugh I hate these pictures. Does anyone have an easier way to get SS shots that doesn't use the Steam overlay(Cant display Fish and is in TGA) or the Copy Paste method?
