Maybe we could need a split up of the civ4 mod forum?

I have an idea for the completed mods forum, maybe it could be split up into a real mod forum and a mod addition forum (many mods are just minor additions to the game like an better diplomacy screen,.....)

It would be the same like the graphics modpacks and the unit modpacks forum, a big and a small one. Eg. "Complete Modpacks" and "Addition Modpacks" forum.

Who defines a "real mod" and a "minor mod"? Isn't this creating too much gray area? Won't this increase the number of 'wrong forum' threads? Aren't the modpacks already split into 3 forums (Complete, Graphic Modpacks, and New Civs)?

I personally do not think it is worth it.

Lets me define this. A real mod is a real mod. A module type mod is something like better domestic advisor, lost units, lost wonders,... All the things that are meant to be integrated in another mod rather than to be used as standalone although you can do it.

Unless you can find a definition that doesn't rely on examples, you can't properly describe the difference between the two mod types.

The forums are already pretty broken up. I agree with GA: Breaking it up more would be a waste of time and only serve to confuse people.

Mods that are intended to be integrated into other mods because theire changes are to specific.

/ and on the other side:

Mods that are intended to be used as standalone or already include other mods and greatly modify the game.

Here is the same request (I haven`t seen it before I started this thread):
