Hi everyone!

Just today I found out these forums, and I'm already fascinated.
Just one things I seem to miss (and I searched over and over):
No one is planning a fantasy-like mod ?
I am thinking about units like:
- wizards (mages, sorcerers, enchanters, witches, whatever)
- griffin rider, dragon rider, etc.
- non-human units (like in Heroes of Might&Magic) - goblins, basilisks, etc.

Also, structures like Wizard's Tower, Griffin Breeding, etc...
Wonders like King Arthur's Round Table

Well you get the idea.
I might have time to develop this in a more serious manner, but for now, I'm just tossing the idea... and I have no idea how to create mods, so if someone wants to, or already started one, it would be awesome

I think its a great idea also...

After I get some practice, I will try to help out... In the meantime I think we are covered with horse units.

Some of the resources will have to be dedicated to magic.

Also, it may be useful to start out with a minimal tech tree first. Limiting the mod to a handful of units at the start might make the project easier to start. these are just some ideas to start...

Warrior 1/1/1
Chariot 1/1/2
Guard 1/2/1
Pike 1/3/1
Horse 2/1/2 req horse
Knight 4/3/2 req horse
Hero 6/6/2 require sm wonder

Mage 8/1/8 require mage resource and sm wonder
Cleric 1/8/1 require cleric resource and sm wonder

Griffen 8/8/8
Dragon 12/12/12 require Dragon resource and sm wonder

Different sm wonders could give you specialist mage/clerics/warriors/etc

Other units could include: Goblins, dwarves, trolls, unicorns, gremlins, gnomes, merpeoples, imps, demons, ogres, ogresses, elementals, conjurers, mages, sages, enchantesses, witches, wizards, manticores, equinoxes, etc.

Equinoxes are holidays - the vernal and autumnal - so named by the Celts - the two days where the length of day and night are equal (typically March 21 and September 23).

Also, there's complicated sphere stuff regarding where the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic, but that's not worth getting into.

I've only been playing Civ3 for about a month, so forgive any ignorance I may allow to show through. That said, there were several good fantasy and middle ages mod packs for Civ2 -both from the web and on the Fantastic Worlds expamsion- which included some mix of the things you've meantioned. Could any of these be used as a starting point?

I think most people have put that on the back burner due to lack of good image files for this mod
