US Army divisions are a bit difficult to understand

10th Mountain Division, US Army. We were the QRF (quick reaction force) in Mogadishu from July - December 1993.

My company, A 2/14 Infantry, rescued the Rangers and Delta on October 3rd-4th, as depicted in the new movie Blackhawk Down.

The photo was taken just a few days before that.

How did you find the film? Is it realistic enough? Or were many things made up?

Actually, Im not. The people I play with are all war-mongers.

It was entirely realistic in the events, names and so forth. Much was left out actually (2 hour time constraint) and almost nothing was mentioned about my unit. However, it was a story about the Rangers, not us, so I forgive them.

It is very close to what actually happened. Very close indeed.

Any other Mog pics you got would be appreciated, I've seen quite a few already, but my interest has kicked up quite a bit lately with the book and movie generating so much press...

Read the book (Great read!) and remembered that nobody knew anything about it at all back in the states. Definately not cool...
