Memory Dump and Blue Screen

I have the 1.61 version of CIV, and it has recently began to result in a blue screen with a memory dump error after one to several turns, depending on the point of the game played. The machine does not restart after the blue screen--I have to do it manually.

I feel like the specs of my machine are irrelevant, because it was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game itself and the video drivers, and I reset the BIOS to default.

Any ideas?

- Have you installed any new hardware or software?
- Perhaps your hardware is failing...

Any kind of blue screen usually points to a hardware failure or an forewarning of probable hardware failure. The error code should provide a clue too. A 'IRQ_NOT_EQUAL' or 'BAD_POOL_CALLER' would point to a fault in the memory. There may be more errors in the 'Event Viewer' also, so have a look in there too.
