Wrong.
Let me clarify for you.
The Eagles' Number Ones is the biggest selling record of all time in the USA only. It has sold about 27 million copies, while Thriller has sold just over 26 million.
If you're talking worldwide, however, the biggest selling album of all time BY A MILE is Thriller. It has sold over 56 million copies.
My opinion: Michael Jackson is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest and most talented musician of all time. He has an amazing voice, plays a whole range of instruments brilliantly, is a very good song and music writer, and is an unbelievable dancer.
"Pop, Hip-hop, rock, R&B" etc are tags which apply to ordinary musicians. They do not apply to MJ. His music transcends labels, none of those categories is valid for his music, he has such a range of ability that he can do any type of music.
Personality-wise, he is different. Unfortunately, that is the state of society today, if you aren't part of the norm, you're a "wierdo". The wierdos and the saddos are actually those that accuse him.
