Micromanagement question

Is there any way to take all your citizens off the land without clicking each individual tile in the city screen? Sometimes I get confused and like to start plopping citizens down one by one. I know clicking the center tile places all of them where the computer wants them to go (which is of limited use) but is there one button for taking them all off again?

AFAIK, you've got to click them one by one.

As far as clicking the center, it's a good starting point to let the computer assign your citizens and then move a few of them from there. You can use the city governor to set your preferences for citizen placement (ie: when a new citizen is born, only it will be placed by computer, when you make a settler/worker all will be replaced I believe, when you click the center tile, and when you opt for the governor to 'control happiness'.)
