Just before, an idea came to my mind. I don't know, perhaps, a sg was already played in this way? I wondered why every sg has to begin in the ancient ages? Why not start in the middle ages? It would just be a bit modding? But no. I wanted the game to be a bit more different:

Someone plays a normal game. But he does not try do win the game, he tries to play BAD (perhaps it's easier to play like this on a higher difficulty level?) and not to be first in tech. But also not the latest with a lot of distance. Try to be near the tech average, but behind it. :)
And then, the middle ages have begun, and the real SG begins: the goal now is, to save the empire from the desolate and hopeless situation (e.g. because Caesar is already building Adam Smith's.... )

I don't know if this is a good idea, but I thought of the Proverb: 'Better try instead of think' . Of course, this is a german proverb. :) So, what do you think of this sort of SG?

Ok, It was just a suggestion. I wanted to try if someone is interested. That is not the case, I accept it. Ok!

This thread will die. A witness of a attempt to release a special succesion game.

I know, but this can be solved by playing two levels higher than normal? (yes, but then we have the problem that it is too high again. :) or perhaps, someone could play normal, save it, go to the editor and then change the civ to play with the worst? (I think, this isn't possible, is it?)

I think it might be fun to try and save the game after it seems lost, but it might be very hard for someone to try and NOT play good and at the same time not play too bad either...

This could also be done by making some variant rules. E.g. you might say that you are not allowed to change any of the advisors suggestions (build orders, research, reshuffling of tiles, etc.) and at the same time limit trading by only allowing trades when contacted, and then not allow any bargaining (e.g. only accept or dismiss).

Giving these restrictions, the players can still play their best. Then you can revert to normal gameplay from the time one or all civs are in the Middle Ages.

Good Luck...

What means good luck? seems nice but thanks, I don't want? It's ok. If I try to do this game, I need a roster:

Elvis, do you want to do this?

4. free
