Do mines have a constant(per turn) chance to find resources or is it as soon as you build it? Or even maybe every time you reveal a new resource that can be tapped by a mine? Whatever the situation, could someone help me out.. Seems like I got bad luck with that small chance... something like 0% so far... maybe less... ;)

They have a constant chance. You won't get it as soon as you build it.

It's an ongoing thing. They also need to be worked by a city, so there's no point building mines outside your city radii (except that they might provide a yet-to-be-revealed resource I suppose, but you'd have to have some bored workers).

When you say worked by your city. Are you refering to in the city limits?

It's about 0.01% per mine per turn, and the tile has to be in a city radius with the city using that square. It's very unusual for this to happen more than about once per game. There's not much point building mines outside city radii.

I don't know, usually happens about 4-5 times per game for me, but maybe I'm just lucky. Probably depends on how well you manage your tiles, or whether you just keep the worker on automate.

Well, maybe I'm just unlucky, but I've only once had it happen twice in a game, and I've gone three full games without it happening at all. This is with every usable hill mined, and in use as soon as is practical. I tend to play a builder style with a relatively small land area, which will reduce my chances. If you're taking over half the map it might account for the difference.
