minimum requirements - im so mad

so i found out today, after downloading the entire civilization 3 game from the internet, 3 days before christmas, that the game i wanted so much, i can't get. maybe its because the damn makers of civ3 made civ3 for the richest computers in the world. I thought my Panasonic Cf-25 toughbook notebook with 48mb ram and 166mhz was 'all that'. now im just pissed. are there any add-ons to disable all the bells and whistles. I mean c'mon... most people don't have pentium 400mhz computers. Ugh, i hate minimum requirements. My computer can never meet them. That's why i have like no games on my pc.

Don't tell me to get a new computer, i already tried that. To get a computer for christmas. Like a 1.2ghz computer. My parents won't let me. I guess i will have to adopt to slowness. Im tired of these +33mhz upgrades and I wish my parents had no say, so i can just goto a store, buy a *****en computer, without them commenting abot it. They think i don't need a computer and they think that i have a perfectly good computer.

It seems like everybody has a faster computer than me... after my last friend, andrew, got a pentium 4, 1.3ghz computer. damnit already. They can buy me a $600 drum set and $300 worth of drum lessons, but they wouldn't be able to get me a computer? I guess the fact of paying for it all at once scares the hell out of them...

48 mb RAM and 166 mhz ain't nothin'.

I think I had that well over four years ago.

Time to upgrade. 500 mhz and 256 RAM is a minimum for such. I am at 450 with 256 RAM, and it works fine.

I suggest you try out a site called PCPitstop and have them check for free your entire system. It will evaluate and make recommendations.

P.S. Get a job and help out instead of crying.

Unless your next door neighbor is the dude from the Dell commercials and can convince your parents to buy you a computer, maybe you should hit the classifieds, either for a job or a used P.C.

unless i'm mistaken, downloading the game from the internet is called "piracy," and strictly illegal. i can't believe you have the nerve to come here and complain about it. its a kick ass game. BUY IT!

as for the minimal requirements, they are very reasonable for the current crop of computers in use today.

face it, your system well behind the times. however, there is a way for you to play. its called CIV2. i'm sure it will run on your system just fine. and it goes for $10 at the bargain bin of your local computer retailer.

I doubt very much if a classic such as Civ II is in the "$10 bargain bin".

Maybe you can find it packaged with another game for $20.

Sorry Fry, but I regret having to tell you that most people DO have 400mhz computers. Your best bet is to follow Bugg's advice and get a job. A new 1.2 Athlon, decent motherboard and 20 gig HD would only cost around 350-400$ US. Work for a couple months and you can have that saved up no problem. Its how I got my new 1600 XP Athlon. Well worth the hassle!

actually i think civ II is old enough now in gaming terms to get it for free off the internet. So go find civ II and download that, way smaller, brilliant game, and not illegal anymore either.
