the war is over now, and we did fairly good in it. We gained a good amount of luxuries as well as some cities and land. But now that the war is over however, this is a citizen discussion determining what should be done to improve our forces was we lost quite a few troops in this war despite aur good gains. We must be prepared for the babylonians to strike us again. So im thinking we might need to fortify those borders and mabye build forts for defense. At this point, our armed forces have little to do now, so suggestions are very welcome to determine things to do.

I think they should be relocated. A few swords to the Egyptian - cities - area and a few horses to the Zariqum - area. Keep some defensive units in our new jungle - cities, but no forts or zone-defense. Those horsies can go barb-hunting the Zariqum area and are prepared to strike Zariqum either in 20 turns, or when the Babs break the peace-treaty.

Unless Egypt is our next target, then send the horsies there.

We need to be aware that the newly captured cities will require more military police than usual to prevent them culture flipping back to Babylon.

With us not that far from Chivalry we should also be training more horsemen to be upgraded to knights rather than swordsmen - a dead end unit in vanilla Civ.

indeed, the horse and the pike are more useful for us. We should move the swordsmen to be police units instead of being the main force of our armed forces.

I think we can use this opprotunity to get infastructurte improved. I suggest our diplomacy be skillfully handled and our cities built up in time for the industrial Revolution to come along. We need a good start for that and this is a good time to prepare for it.

Exactly. Now is the time to consider where we want to be in the world. Do we want to be a strong nation that can tell the other Civs where to go when they make demands? ie: keep a strong military? or do we want to just keep the minimum military necessary and avoid wars. A strong military doesn't necessary mean conquest - there's always the peace through superior firepower route.

True, in that case I leave it to the governors to produce what they want, gbut make sure the armed forces are powerful.

Get real!!!

Keep the military up - but go for top of the line stuff and invest in transport lines. Lets go for best static defence in the cities and forget about border or non-city defensive positions. Couple this with a mobile 'fire-brigade' with a road system to deliver them to the point of need rapidly.

thats the general tactics that will be implemented after we get our cavalry reserves with knights.
