When I run dxdiag I am told I am missing certain files. Specifically file names starting with Microsoft.DirectX (8 files).
I have DirectX 9.0b 4.09.0000.0902. There are no windows updates left to upload (WinMe). All my drivers are up to date.
These files are indeed missing as my file recovery program shows them as unrecoverable. All my games run fine.
So how can I fix this? I can't seem to find a DirectX deleter that handles 9.0b and would really prefer a different solution. Is there a way to reinstall DirectX? Couldn't I just get copies of those files and there location and place them there?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx.
