Missing Text Files? (BTS)

Hi there, long time listener, first time caller

Have been playing Civ 4 for a while and decided to d/l BTS but although there was no problems with installation, it appears quite a few text files aren't there - for example, the descriptions of different civic effects, the names of a few of the wonders, the amount of research points gone into what I'm researching etc. Instead there appears to be a file reference. Tried to reinstall, but no luck there. Is this a problem that can be fixed with patching or will I have to redownload the entire thing again?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I happen to be an idiot when it comes to computers.

Let me guess: You've downloaded basic Civ4 and the expansion beyond the sword from some online retailer like Steam or D2D, and you did not purchase the (not really needed) warlords expansion, right?
In this case, i have to say you're unlucky. Somehow the online versions require warlords to function properly.

Heh, I see. Well, that's a bit of a kick in the teeth. I'll get Warlords and see what happens.
