Well, I know I started this unit about 5 months ago and never finished it, but my Poser 5 skilz and cut and paste abilities have developed to the point where I could take care of the few nagging parts of the remaining unfinished animations. This is also my first Poser 5 unit, and while it is not Kinboat Quality (tm), I am pretty proud of it none the less.

The Mithra are a female feline race from the world of Final Fantasy XI, and are noteworthy for their high agility, and as a consequence the best thieves and ninjas are mithra. The mithra are from the Federation of Windhurst, and act as guardians over the physically weak (but magically strong) taru-taru, and often show a motherly affection toward their pint-sized neighbors.

In the Final Fantasy mod, the Mithra Ninja is one of the Windhurstian UU's, replacing the Samurai, and having the same A/D/M, but offensive bombard and stealth attack :ninja:

UPDATE: I have finally got around to fixing the lighting and camera angles as well as several of the textures, so now this unit should be somewhere near Kinboat Quality (tm). I ended up changing all the graphics (including Units32 and pedia icons), so I just got rid of the old version and uploaded a new one. Preview of the new version is below.

Anyways, here's the updated files (includes all pcx files, and either custom or linked sounds): Mithra.zip, 530 KB

Animated preview, order is default, fidget, run, fortify, attack A, attack B, and Victory:

 I knew Goldflash would like it, what with his Cat-girl obsession.

Glad you guys liked it. I've managed to work out a lot of fiddly stuff with using Poser for making units, so hopefully my next poser unit won't take as much time to do.

Catgirl ninjas rule over all.

End of Line.

Ya darn right they do!

YES another female unit... Uhh... I mean thank you, great work.

Yeeah, I've been trying to even out the gender ratio for the Final Fantasy mod, because in just about all the games female charachters either play an important part or are the most important main charachter(s) (ala FF X-2). As a result, I'm using the 'colonist' from the Age of Discovery conquest as the settler, and the entire generic defensive unit line (archer, ranger, gunner, and sniper) are female (or will be once I make the ranger). Some female UU's are the Sorceress for Tycoon (Wise One by CamJH) and AVALANCHE's Freedom Fighter (Kinboat's Angel). I've also got a few more female UU's in the works, including an Ivalician Chemist (basically a female musketeer with a grenade attack), Lindblum Aviator (female paratrooper with a sailor-type uniform, since most of Lindblum's Air Force is made up of Airships), and the Wutai Ninja (Yuffie) for AVALANCHE.

Looks Great Hikaro Takayama! All flcs are Very Well Done :goodjob:
...The Victory flc seems to be using part of the Fortify flc rather than the default other than that, the Attack B seems to look better with a faster speed such as 83 but I have only looked at it in Flicster.

Vuldacon: from what I've seen of all Civ III victory FLCs is that they start with the last frame of the attack animatons, and end with the default animation, which this one does. You see, the last frame of both the attack A and B animations is different than the last frame of the fortify animation, but that works, since the animation cycle is A-b-b-b-b-b-b (until something dies or retreats), so that even if she killed a red-lined unit with just the attack A animation and promoted, the animation cycling would still be preserved.

As for the Attack B animation, it's the way it is because (a) the sound I use is that long, and if I make the animation shorter than the sound, the sound goes into a nasty feed-back loop that sounds like a bunch of loud pops, and (b) the attack B is actually a two-part attack. The first part she stabs the badguy, then she hooks the sword around and grabs his head, and pulls the guy and sword in opposite directions (this is best seen from the N and S directions) like a certain "throw" move that Mitsurugi uses in Soul Calibur, after which she returns to her sword ready stance.

Oh sweet you going to make yuffie :)

Does this answer your question? :mischief:

Hikaro Takayama, Yes, just before you posted, I generated a Storyboard and saw that you used Attack B to start out the Victory flc. It just appeared strange in Flicster but I see now that it is ok. Sounds can really be difficult so I understand that as well. Again, Good Job... :goodjob:

Sweet, a Rakasta, well that's what I'm going to call it in my mod.

Glad you like it, TJ, I seem to remember when I made the preview thread a while back that you'd use her for your D&D mod.

Zulu: No I haven't done the gatling gun yet due to a bit of a lack of inspiration on my part. Don't worry, it will get done, once I've managed to work out a few fiddly bits with the animations and civ coloring.

I did say that didn't I. I'm beginning to echo myself. Well, ther Rakasta was a much needed unit that seemed to difficult to request so I'm very excited you made a unit that resembled them very much.

The unit is slightly off-center.
Nice one, though. I've got an Amazon civ in my game, but I think this catgirl is going to have to come from Japan. An assassin from the deepest pit of Harajuku!

Very good animations and a great unit overall :goodjob:

But what or where would this unit be placed/used for in a game?
