Does anyone have any micromanaging efficiency tips or advice on micromanaging efficiently? (What is the best way to check through your cities (especially when you have a large empire...), how to most easily check for an upcoming riot, etc.)

How about when checking who has what (how much money, what technologies they have, etc.) without having to go through the whole "I wish to propose a deal..." and then saying "Never mind" when you get the information you want (usually, I end up visiting several of the AIs personalities a couple of times during one turn...)

Thanks,

JMB

You can glance over what cities are going to expand in a pop. and next turn check to see if they got a unhappy person.

For techs you have to scroll through the whole lot. Its very annoying.

I know full well that whining is off-topic here, but while playing Civ3 I can't help feeling nostalgic about the way Civ1 kept you informed of what the other civs were doing (that is, those with which you had embassies) :(

I think you mean Civ 2? We are indeed nostalgic for it. :(

That micromanagement guide was written by Charis a couple months ago, and it's an excellent introduction into how to get the most out of your cities. I highly recommend it to those who are interested in how to micromanage better (which is essentially a necessary skill to win at the highest levels).

I don't really MM all that much, but couldn't you use the domestic advisor (F1)?

You could scroll down, seeing the mood of every city.

Always! :)

Sullla's succession games, especial the tutorial ones, are great. I am still on the Warlord level (though not for long) but have found a lot of his tips and critiques very useful.. Thaks Sullla

This is easier if you sort by decreasing population since cities about to riot will be near the top.

i think on the new patch not sure bout the original but any city in disorder can be seen in read on the domesic advisor screen

yep, very useful. another micromanaging tip is that when you have 1 turn left on research, you often can decrease(sp?) the spending on research, while the tech still will be completed the next turn. free money :-)

.

Sure, i am use to play at regent for fun, but after reading you succesion game on emperor i give it a try. Against 3 A.I. on regular map i did a conquest victory, I buy most of the tech, and the only wonder i got Hover dam. We gang bang early on aztec, then mpp with india, then war against england( 2 on 1 ) then when mpp gone war against india with panzer and bomber fighting tanks.

Playing on emperor is very different( buying tech unsteed of researching) and need a carfull evaluation before estblishing a strategy.

Ty again for your Succ. game i learn how to bead those "cheater" A.I.
