It seems to me that mobilizing your economy for for war
works differently now. In previous version of CIV 3 if
you were building an aquaduct or a cathederal and you
hit the mobilize button, the cities would continue
building whatever they were building, but you were limited
to military units for new or changed production.

But in conquests, when you mobilize all cities immediatly
switch to building military units. Is this true? I could be
wrong about the way it worked before because I hadn't used
it in quite a while.

This isnt true at all, though, for the Napoleonic War conquest. You can build anything under mobilization.

Yes it is true and came as a nasty shock to me in my current game. First year after mobilization I cranked out an amazing amount of Cavalry and Destroyers. Thought it was kind of strange that so many units would come out that year. Figured they just humped it on production with the call to war. Turns out that indeed they switched all city production to cavalry and destroyers.

Certainly was a nasty, nasty surprise to see my city that was dutifully completing the Hoover Dam switch production two turns from completion to create a Cavalry Unit. It warranted a reload from me.
