Mod DB reports 103 downloads so I am assuming some of you like it!

Please rate!

I Rated this One Star.....Reason No buttons in Original Mod!!!
Please fix it!

Seems a bit harsh for such a simple ini preference edit! You've been on this board as long as I have, that's about the easiest fix (if you would even call it a fix) there is. If you want to play other Maps, set your ini to how you want it. This MOD is just my personal adjustments to Paul Murphy's MOD!

i loaded this mod now next war epic is gone and the expansion wont play

provide some detail on how you installed it and i'll see if i can help - no conflicts on my pc.

Cheers!

what info r u looking for. im running on vista. it doesnt give me an option to unzipp so extracted to the mods folder. the game goes through all the motions as for as loading but when the next war screen should open it goes back to the original bts screen but i cant play any games from there.

i can still play new war epic but i the only place the game is is in the bts content menu. in the mods page it says next war expansion..im not to comp savvy so im not sure if i was even suppose to extract them or what.like i said just let me know what u need

im running vista ultimate and i extract all the mods i download in the download folder that vista puts downloads in by default. after that i cut and paste to the c:\users\USERNAME\documents\my games\MODS folder. that way the original game installation does not get accidently over written. this may be the case here.

i would uninstall civ4 and bts and warlords if you have it and then reinstall all to get the original files restored

-OR-

use your system restore option and restore your computer to the state it was in before you extracted the mod.

then extract the mod as i mentioned above.

there may be an easier way but i have found easy usually means increase chance of something going wrong.

i have another stupid question. if i unstall everything and reinstall it am i going to b wasting alot of ram. id rather just forget it if thats the case.the old dont fix it if its not broken comes to mind. i have the retail version civ 4 gold and direct2drive bts. im afraid it will be a bigger hassle then its worth.whats ur opinion?ive been running into problems with the d2d bts. iwas thinking about unistalling it and getting the retail version cuz those seem to run alot better then the d2d bts.

so after i download it, first i extract it to a default folder, then i cut and paste it to the mods folder?dont worry about it if its too much trouble but sence we r running the same os can u give me step by step detailed instructions on how to do it.

  1. download
  2. extract all
  3. cut and paste to BtS MODS folder
  4. start game
  5. click on advanced
  6. click on load a mod
  7. click on Next War Expansion
  8. play game

my download path :
C:\Users\MY USER NAME\Downloads (vista default download folder via IE7)

my mod install path :
C:\Users\MY USER NAME\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\MODS

thats it!

i see i put it in program files instead oy my doucuments. that probabily why i started having trouble.

After the great startup screens, in which I chose custom game I get a beautiful gamemap map with the initial settler and scout, but there are no interface displays controls, buttons are any way to play the game. The only response interactivity the game responds to is the carraige return, which apparrently advances the game, but still no interface.

Post a screen shot so I can see what u r talking about. Please remember this is for BTS v3.17 and the map is very much ram and processor intensive. If you don’t have a decent processor and a fair amount of ram, you’ll have trouble getting it to render properly. My mobo has a dual core amd 64 with 2GB ram. I have my page file set to min 4GB and max 8GB, my graphics card has its own dual core onboard ram – 1GB – and I still have trouble getting it to render sometimes. I usually clear my game cache and that seems to get it to work. I think the trouble with civ4 in general is the version of VC++ that was used and the fact that every single event and animation seems to call a new thread without releasing the resources of the previous turn. I would speculate a moderate number of thread collisions at any given moment during game play. If only they would release an SDK for VS 2008 – the new .NET framework 3.5 compiles some pretty solid assemblies that even with loose programming don’t monopolize resources as much.

beastmaster,
how did u know i downloaded nwa? anyway, i did and its almost unplayable.i have the graphics set to low and it still crashes every 10 minutes. im going to download yours again after work. just to clarify, im going to put this file in the mydocuments\bts\mod, NOT the program files. it that correct?
