As you can see, There is TONS of work to do. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me suggestions as well as the links to your suggestions for UU's for the civs that need them. I also need a few leaderheads as well...
 
One obvious UU for the Finns would be a Hakkapelite - a 17th C light cavalryman - in the medieval slot, which would free the Easterling gfx for something else.

The modern French UU could be a Mirage jet fighter, or a Légion d'Étrangers (sp?) dude.

Italy could have a Roman legion for the ancient one, and a condottiere for the medieval one.

Germany's medieval UU could a Teutonic Knight.

Russia's industrial could be a T-34.

(It does seem odd to have one Sweden civ and one Scandinavia one, and likewise Serbia and Yugoslavia.)

Thanks.. I'll go find those units and add them in.. as for Sweden/Scandinavia and Serbia/Yugoslavia... we could easily change the names 2 of those civs... Scandinavia to (Norway?) or something...
 
I changed Scandinavia to Denmark, and am leaving Serbia/Yugoslavia alone for now. I've added 13 units in today, and finished 2 civilizations. I'm tired. The more suggestions for UU's the better, I will get back to work tommorow and hopefully lay down 2 more civs.

The guard shouldnt only have an attack of 4! that is egual to the medieval infantry :D
it has a rifle anyway, so i guess it should have an attack of 6, and it is an 1912 unit, although it can used for earlier ones too (1831-1922 i think), so i think it has to be an infantry unit, without more defense probably, but with larger speed (this is at any rate just a possible bonus).
But dont make it suck so much by giving it attack 4 ;)
 
You could use for Romania:
Ancient: Golden Helmets (1 point more for offense, replace Horseman or Swordsman, it doesn't matter)
Medieval: Heavy Knights (1 point defense, replace Knights)
For Modern and Industrial I'll think more.
 
I guess that only the first UU victory triggers a golden age, but this means that all of the AI will have a GA in the ancient age, and this may destabilise gameplay in favour of the human player, who will keep his GA for medieval or industrial times.

Also the scen file will be massively bigger if you choose to have so many units that arent in the regular game.

Perhaps having 2 UU's per nation is a better idea. This way some nations can have the GA in ancient/medieval, and others in industrial + the dl file will be smaller.

oh: and the cataphract (medieval UU for Greece, great choice ;) ) instead of having 3/3/3 could have 4/4/2, since it wasnt fast (massive armor) but very much a powerfull defender.
 
And for Industrial and Modern UU of Romania:
Vanator de Munte (8/9/1 replaces Infantry)
VBL-17 (26/15/3 replaces Modern Armour)
 
modern armour: 24/16/3. proposed vbl-17 stats: 26/15/3. It does seem rather pointless, doesnt it? a +2 and -1 dont mean anything. Just think of an archer (2/1/1) being attacked by a warrior (1/1/1). The warrior will win most of the time, but sometimes it will lose. And that is when a unit with HALF of the attack of another one is attacking it. The random outcome that is built in the game mechanics nullifies anything but the most significant stat differences (and by significant it has to have at least 25% bigger power than the other unit).

Which is why, along with the fact that modern armies arent that different from each other, at least in Europe, i suggest that the idea of four ages of UU's is dropped, unless you just want to showcase the graphics, but imo this will make the dl file a lot larger for no good reason, and people with not very fast connections will find it difficult to dl it.

UU's in ancient, medieval, and early/late industrial times are probably the best idea. And having two of them will help make different civs have a GA in different times. Otherwise you will find it hard to balance all of the new units.

Well, not only the ancient UU will trigger the GA.

The way I'm doing it is instead of the UU replacing the unit, I'm just putting it in as well.

Example- If the hoplite is the ancient UU for Greece, I'm making both the hoplite and spearman available for Greece. If you don't want an ancient GA, don't build the hoplite. Want a modern GA? Wait till you get your modern UU.
 
Yes, the AI may use the ancient UU and get their GA, but that is good...

AI's GA provides a harder challenge in the first 100-140 turns

And maybe they will get their early GA, but you still have control over yours.

And even then, just take the GA aspect away and you still have 4 unique units for all the civis... still pretty good
 
@varwnos- I want to put some of your cities in my mod, where do I put them? Tell me how... I know I'm such a newbie :(

Also...is there a way to change culture groups? I don't want a Sweden civ in an asian culture group...and I definately don't want asian city graphics for them...
 
you cannot rename the culture groups i think (i am not sure), but you can use whatever graphics you want for them.
If you decide which graphics you want i can make the files for you and post them ;)

One group could be slav, for which i am currently making a series :)

also i propose that the Cataphract has 4/4/2 (one extra def than the regular knight), requires iron, and is a bit expensive. The cataphracts were massively armoured, and not fast :)
 
The culture groups could be:

-catholic euorpean
-orthodox european
-islamic
-protestant european

and there is a possible med european group (greece + rome/italy)

i have cities for:
islamic (arabic)
orthodox (armenian + slav)
catholic (crusader)

If you dont need each era to have unique cities then you could have 2 identical sets for ancient-medieval, and then the firaxis default euro industrial set.
