[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

How do I install the main mod for FFH? I have installed it, but I still can't see the units in the civilopedia. I have tried to install the 3.17 patch for Beyond the Sword and FFH and they won't. They have taken almost three hours and they still won't work.

It sounds like you may have only installed the patch. You need to make sure your installing the full mod. Give us a screenshot of the main menu and we will see if we can help.
 
Yeah.. I read that thing about not seeing units in the civilopedia.
I don't know how to do screen shots.

Oh, and I forgot to mention its FFHII.:)

Oh, i understand. Your problem isnt with FfH2 at all. Its with applying the Beyond the Sword patch. Thats why we are all kinda confused, that doesn't have anything to do with us. I think other people that had that problem ended up downloading the 3.17 patch from civfanatics and applying it locally instead of using the auto-update service (i think 2k games has a single computer running on gerbil power seeding the patch).
 
I noticed the link to download 0.34 is on post #1, but the download site has not released the file yet. How long does it normally take for a new download file to become available on that site?

Version 0.34 has been uploaded and is linked in the first post. It may take a little while before it comes online (ModDB copies it out to a few mirrors in the background) but it should be available soon.

This version adds the following major features to FfH:

1. The Illians, rulers of a former age survive in the worlds snowy wastes after the death of their god. Now you can guide them through the rituals required to resurrect their god and reclaim their dominion over Erebus.

2. Explorable Lairs. You can have your units explore the ancient dungeons, barrows, ship wrecks and ruins. They may find treasure, allies or powerful enemies within the lairs.

3. New Challenge modes have been added. These game options create alternate rules for the game like the Final Five mode where the player with the lowest score is removed from the game every 50 turns until only 5 players remain. Or the Increasing Difficulty mode where the game difficulty increases as the game goes on.

4. The Trophy Hall. Earn achievements by winning games under various conditions or accomplishing feats within games.

Special thanks to Marnok, Vehem and Xienwolf for all their help with this version, just awesome stuff (if you like Fall from Heaven you should check out Fall Further as well, we have a lot of features in this version from Fall Further). Also seZereth has really outdone himself and there is a ton of new art in this version, just amazing stuff.
 
Hello, firstposter here. I am Karnja from Germany. My English is limited, so i apollogize for any mistakes in advance^^

I just wanted to say <3 Kael and his team that i have a lot of love for you guys :) this mod is really a highlight! i am playing it with a friend and we just cant get enough of it. really looking forward to try the new patch ~

Please keep going with this great work because you are making a lot of people happy <3

Already found a problem. Playing 0.34 with Illians (big surprise!): I'm not being prompted to pick a new tech to be researched. Right at the beginning, of after I'm done researching a tech, the choices don't come up, so if I forget, the game goes on without any tech being researched.

Okay will try that fix. I wonder if this also explains why I'm not getting any options to construct buildings. I have agriculture, crafting (etc) and have no building selection available, not even the palace.

Edit -- never mind. From the previous post, these problems are clearly all related...

I downloaded and installed the mod today. Unfortunately when starting the game I keep getting an error, a window pop ups saying

Loading error

GFC error failed to initialize the primary control theme

the file I doenloaded installed fine though since it had no extension I renamed it to .exe

btw

I have the german civilization iv complete edition and patched it today to version 3.17

after deleting the folder and reinstalling the mod it works now, thank you anyway
 
Patch "a" is linked in the first post. It won't break save games and fixes the following issues:

1. Timor masks fixed, when the units dead / it used to drop the War sword instead.
2. Increasing difficulty caused a CtD / because it didn't stop at diety.
3. When the Dwarf vs Lizardman lair event was found / it will no longer move your unit stacks around.
4. Fixed an error in lairs when / an unknown unit dwells within.
5. Upgrades from spells can be bought more frugally / if the leader has ingenuity.
6. Unexplorable lairs / dens of lions and bears / will autoraze as they did before / we introduced lairs you could explore.
7. Guardian spawns wont cause you to die / they now use the animal AI.
