Mod hijacking on Steam

I noticed a user named Letal on Steam uploaded a lot of mods that are direct copy'n'paste of popular mods like production queue, better trade screen and some YnAMP mods. Dunno if this deserves a thread, but I thought people should check if their work is getting hijacked and report it. Thanks, bugs and concern is given to the wrong person. Not helping modding at all.

If I recall correctly, then civ5 uploaded mods in a different way that would hinder this behaviour to some extent. I was surprised that you can download a mod from civfanatics and just upload it via Steam Workshop Uploader without ever touching ModBuddy.

Edit: Most subscribed even list the copy'n'paste higher:

Yea, I did... but thought one report from a random guy might not help. Might be better if the author of the mod did something. I also wrote a message on the modpage and it got deleted, so he (Letal) is fully aware of whats going on.

This situation was also reported on my mods pages, so I've send a message to someone who can forward it to steam/firaxis.

Eventually a mod author can use the report button then file a DMCA complaint, which I'll do if this became a bigger problem.

This sort of thing happened on the civ5 workshop. I don't know that anything was ever done regardless of the amount of reporting that was done.

Sad to see it has started on Civ6 with the workshop not even a month old for general public access.
