Mod Request: Zoom Out further

I have Ultra Wide Screen with a resolution 3440*1440. Max Zoom out level is still to close to the field. I need to zoom out further most of the time.

Could anybody solve this problem? Appriciated.

You can do it via debug. I would love someone to figure out how to mod it, because going through debug is several steps.

But you can turn on debug, go to camera, and then choose custom camera setting. I like 1800 for the number, and then you have much better zoom.

I'm also playing in 3440x1440, and I would really like something like this too.
In older Civ games you could zoom out so you could see the whole map on the screen without scrolling!

Due to the limited zoom level my eyes (well, head!) get really sore after about 4-5 hours of gaming.

Please make this, someone!

Several steps or not, I really need to do something so I can play those 10+ hour sessions I really miss... Sucks having to stop playing at 5pm on a Saturday due to my eyes bleeding, when I still have at least 8 hours of potential game time ahead of me!

Open the "AppOptions.txt" file in the "\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII" folder (on Windows)

find the line

;Enable Debug Panels. 1 : Enable, 0 : Disable, -1 : Default
;EnableDebugPanels -1

and set it to

EnableDebugPanels 1

(don't forget to remove the semi-colon at the beginning)

You'll be able to access it in game with the tilde key.

Thank you @notque , this works perfectly! I do have a question - is it possible to save this value somehow? Every time I launch the game I have to do the 'debug steps' to fix the zoom.

Not currently, but I've been asking other modders for this for awhile, and I've heard a rumbling it may be possible. But I still have to get someone who understands how to do it, to do it. So I don't know, we will see.

I loved the enhanced camera mod we had for Civ6 and I’ve tried reaching out to its creator with no success. Maybe someone will be able to re create it for 7.
