Beside the AI, the other issue holding me back with Civ VI is the cartoon looking graphics. Is there a mod to change the look of the game to something closer to Civ V or Civ IV?
It doesn't help with the leaders, but it really improves the map IMO. I won't play without it. And the map needed improvement a lot more than the leaders anyway
Since the environment skin won't change the graphics of units, if how they look still bothers you, I'd combine it with R.E.D modpack 2 which only changes the appearance of units. It rescales the size so they're smaller, not giants walking across the terrain, and increases the number of models. I believe it also affects how their formation looks, referring to the the formation of the models making up a single unit. It's a nice mod, check it out: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/r-e-d-modpack.607017/
The Civ V Environment Skin might be "most popular" of all time but it is only the 16th most subscribed. The Steam Workshop "Popularity" metric seems far more driven by visits to the mod's page than people actually subscribing. I'm not sure that is true popularity really. Not too take anything away from it - it's a great mod. I only wish that the original assets were made available for modders to follow and adapt the work.
