ModBuddy Crash

I'm not quite sure what the problem is but my modbuddy arbitrarily decided it doesn't want to work anymore.

That might be the wrong way to describe it, actually. Modbuddy works, anytime I try to update a mod on the steam workshop, it crashes. Which is funny because I also can't comment on any mods.

Anyone have this issue/know what a potential fix might be? I have tried reinstalling Visual Studio 2010 and the Civ 5 SDK.

A few of us are having the "can't comment on our own mods" issue.

Re updating a mod, are you doing it "the old way" (ie by attempting to upload the same mod again, just a different version number) or are you expanding the mod in the list in ModBuddy and clicking the "Upgrade" link on the right?

Thanks for the reply W.

I've been expanding it in modbuddy and selecting "Upload a new version". Out of curiosity, I tried uploading a new mod selecting both the mod I am trying to update, and a completely different mod. In all situations, it crashes right after it extracts the contents.

As bad as this may sound, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with the other issue. Was a bit disconcerting.

Ummm, not sure what to suggest about the crash during upload. You've not hand-edited any of the files such that the MD5 values in the .modinfo file would be wrong?

Also, on the unable to comment on mods, out of curiosity, are you a member of the old beta group - FXS_Workshop?

No sir. I suppose it's just random. Or maybe everyone is experiencing the issue, or can others you know comment?

Edit: And no, not touching the modinfo file at all. I sent in a ticket to steam, hopefully they will have a solution.

Hey, I know this thread has been dead a few weeks, but did anyone ever find a solution?

Today I tried to upload a new mod and ModBuddy constantly crashes right after the "Extract Contents" bar finishes (I assume similar to the problem of the OP).

I can't figure out what's wrong.

I have no idea what was wrong, and after 2 hours trying to figure it out I gave up. I just made a new mod with all the file names matching and copy and pasted all the XML data from my old files. Took 15 minutes and uploaded perfectly.
