I'm trying to update some of my mods and submit them to Steam; however, I keep getting the same errors each time. Screenshot #1 shows my starting-page data; screenshot #2 shows the error message. Could one of you please help me with troubleshooting? Many thanks!

At a guess, the
at the end of the description text.

At a guess, the
at the end of the description text.

That's what I get for the awkward cut-and-paste from a .modinfo file! I'll let you know if correcting that makes a difference.

EDIT: Nope; removing the stray HTML tag didn't prevent the error.

I've had similar odd issues while creating new mods. What I do is: create the mod with just random keyboard-mashing gibberish in every field that needs something in it, then I go in to the mod properties and change the gibberish to the proper title, author, and description once it's been successfully created

It must have something to do with putting spaces in the title of the mod, or something like that.

Spaces in the mod title are fine - I use them all the time. Line 11 of the .civ5proj file is usually the description - have you copied more than 1000 characters into that field?

As it turns out, I had put the longish full description in that last section (not the one-line "teaser description"); maybe the next update to ModBuddy should clarify which is needed on the new-project page. I finally got version 2 of my mod cleaned up and posted to Steam's workshop, though. Many thanks to everyone who helped! :thanx:
