So as most of you (everyone) knows, Civ 5 is quite lack luster in regards to modding capabilities at the moment, and with no word of Source Codes being released to public ive started to contemplate betraying my beloved Civilization 5 to turn to the initially underwhelming Elemental: War of Magic for my modding platform of choice.

Now, ive only owned Elemental for a few days but after the initial period of hair pulling and swearing at poor design decisions ive begun to see the potential in the game for modding.

so my question to the Civ community is this: has anyone looked into modding Elemental and would you say it would be a better mod platform than Civ 5 due to the lack of DLL?

I would rather have you stay with Civ because I don't play Elemental . All joking aside, I think Civ has plenty of potential; with each new patch they clear up more and more bugs, and as the common theory is that the DLL will be released after the code is stable, it surely can't be too long now. Besides, the more mods the merrier :D.

Civ5, because Elemental is a fundamentally flawed game that is just horrible, and no fun at all to play.

The core of Civ5 has a lot of very good design decisions. Elemental... not so much. It's really all pretty thrown together.

Whether a mod is going to be fun to play is heavily dependent on how good the core game is.
