monitor lockup/crash loading hotseat game

I have tried to load a hotseat game several times. The first time I got to the screen where the first player is introduced. When I clicked continue my monitor seemed to go into standby mode. When I tried to turn it back on all I got was the screen that changes the settings on the monitor. Since then I cant even get to the first player screen. Every time I try to load a hotseat game my monitor shuts down. single player games seem to be working as well as before. Anyone with an idea what may be causing this. Before I tried loading the hotseat game I had changed my graphics card to a Radeon 9200SE. Things ran a lot smoother in single player after that. I have loaded patch v1.09 before trying to run the hotseat game.

Several people looking but None with any ideas as to what may be causing this problem? I have been all over the forum and no one I can find has anything like this problem. I have a P4, 2 Ghz, 512MB ram, Radeon 9200se @128 MB. It seems that it is well enough over the min. requirements. The weird thing is that the game seems to work fine in single player. I only have problems with the HOTSEAT option. Any help would be great
