Some information I got from the Official FAQ:
http://www.moo3.net/FAQ/index.cfm
When is the official release date?

First quarter of 2002.
What are the official system requirements?

P2 233 64meg of RAM. That's not official, but it's the last I heard.
Will there be a Mac version?

We want very much to make MOO3 for Mac. We're still working out a deal with a Mac publisher. We'll announce it if a deal is made.
Will there be a Linux version?

Unknown at this time.
Will the game be playable in Windows 2000?

We are trying to support Win2k.
Will you be able to play by email?

As much as I want it, too, it looks like play by email is out, sorry.

Personally I liked MOO better than MOO2, but I guess that happens with all sequels.
However, there was another game named Ascendency or something and it was much worse than MOO2.

The fact I liked about MOO was that you could build, like a million tiny spaceships and pack them all together. It's much harder to destroy a huge number of ships than just one huge spaceship. I like to build a huge army of tiny ships and then swarm on to orion to drive the guardian crazy.

i liked to have specialized ships, like aircraft carriers. i would take the biggest ship, and fill them with my best interceptors. and of course, everyone recognizes my name..

Hmmm, don't know about that small ships thing, Pedro. I'd much rather build a small fleet of big ships, because it means you can fit more on them! I also reckon that leaders are kinda useless on little ships, cos there is not much to improve in the first place!

Well Pixie Pedro is talking about Masters of Orion 1!!! In that game there where no leaders to put on your ships!!! And you could only have a small number of different ships but you could, as Pedro says, have millions of them!!!!
I like it to Pedro!!!

Oh yeah, big d'oh on my part, sorry about that. I still like to build bigger ships tho, cos i like to test out different combinations of weapons.

One thing I remember from MOO is the incomprehensible Tech Tree. I always just clicked *somethin* that seemed appropriate at that time. Some weapons seemed useless too.
I especially like the tractorbeam in combination with a device that would double the range of your own weapons. A deadly combination!
