i was playing at monarch as the greeks and i really needed the great library for some techs, so i gather a large army of medieval infantry and crusaders and get a right of passage.

i position my troops by Lisbon and it is defended with Spearmen i take it easily and move to Oporto i capture it and raze it, by this time the porteugeuse are extremely furious with me because i had abandoned Lisbon after i got the techs i needed. But i see that they still have Oporto's culture and i watched the replay according to this Oporto is still there.

i will get a screen ASAP

Umm you lost me. What was the question again?

If it's about them not losing culture when you razed cities, thats right. They still have that culture(towards a 100k win) they just stop gaining more culture from those cities every turn.

It's like if you have swords already in the field & the enemy pillages your iron, your swords don't magically disapear.

when watching the replay after the game is over, it still shows white dots for cities that were abandoned. its messed up

well, it would be quite an offensive ai cheat (if you mean this with 'ai bonus'). before i would suspect such an ai cheat, i'd rather take in account what happened in-game, not during replay.
i suppose your ai opponent (portugal?) lost it's territory when you captured and razed the cities. probably that's what counts for score.
cities keep their culture they produced when they change the owner. you can experience that when you re-capture back one of your former own cities.
a screenie would be never the less interesting - may a 'before - after' comparison.
