More Histograph attempts

Nice graphs people :goodjob:. Sometime I may get around to adding something like this onto the game info page. Still pretty busy with the new job at the moment though.

Just a little bit of friendly advice for the graphers. Those graphs will have a smaller file size (especially important for me at the moment as I'm using dialup at home for the next week or so until my ADSL gets connected), and also look better too, if you use .gif or .png rather than .jpg.

Latest Update:

I was ahead there for awhile. The slump on the graph was the 8 turn anarchy when I switched to Communism. I have Sanitation and Replacable Parts, now. So things should start taking off again.

I have cleared more than half the wetlands. 90+% of my cities are size 12 and are building hospitals. I am working on Ind and then Espy for the Police HQ. I have also been aggressively transfering my population to greener pastures.

I have eliminated all but the Hittites. They are still pretty backward. I think they may be still in the AA. I just finished off England. They were on the big island to the northeast. I wouldn't have messed with them but they finally made contact with one of the other AIs and declared war, thus depriving me of furs. They had the only ones.

I created and gifted a tundra city up north for the Hittities but so far I haven't seen a sign that they have ever left their island. I think someone was talking about how the civs will build all the units they can support and then never build any ships. They didn't learn MM until very late. I may just leave them as-is, since I they will never be able to do anything.

Thanks for the update. Your map looks so much better than mine ATM. I still have loads of temporary towns to eliminate before it looks like a nice grid like yours. :) I'm not on my civ machine right now, but I'll post a map later.

You know, all these nice pictures are kind of motivating me to start up Mapfinder for another milking run.... :)

I've got to have something to do when I'm waiting for my PBEM's to arrive in my mailbox, now that I am not playing the COTM anymore... :crazyeye:

You could solve that 'problem' another way too, you know... :mischief:

I can? :crazyeye:

Welcome news old friend! I remember the times it seemed like you and I were the only ones posting in this forum.

Was Svar's game pangaea or archi, do you know? In the latter stages the dom limit gains importance.
Code:
[U]From SeedBeast:[/U]
Player: Svar Denniz
Barbarians: NONE NONE
Climate: WET WET
LandForm: PANGAEA PANGAEA
Map Size: HUGE HUGE
Ocean Coverage: 60% 60%
Temperature: WARM [COLOR=Red]TEMPERATE[/COLOR]
World Age: 5 BILLION 5 BILLION
I would have thought temperate would have been better.

but, then again, I could be in trouble. :)

It seems your world has less grass and more coast. While coast can be better because you can include more 'free' sea tiles. But you'd have to have 1 sea tile for each coast to approach the 4 food grass 'll give you.

I'll post my worlds' stats tonight when I get home. :)

@Denniz: The jungle, marsh and maybe some of the forest that you have left will yield more grasslands, but it doesn't look like you'll end up with as much as Svar had. This looks like proof of the old adage "warm and wet results in the most grasslands." ;)

Ah, yes.. Those were the days. ;)

BTW: What's seedbeast?

:hmm: I will have to examine my coastal holdings to see where I can expand my borders for a little more of those 'free' sea tiles. :) I have been trying to minimize coastal territory when I can. I guess there is another way to look at that. Thanks.

I was worried about too much jungle and marsh slowing expansion. More desert too, only I turns out I have more of that. Weird. Oh well, that's how one learns, I suppose. (I am assuming that examining these stats before the world is visible "in game" is not allowed. Pity.)

If it looks like I can't catch up, I will have to see if I have a chance at #2. I may have to abandon this if my progress doesn't improve in the next century or so. (My trend is heading to cross under Monsingers, and probably several others, if I don't get some upward momentum, soon. :( ) No way I'm going to milk this past max pop unless it can finish high.

The big question of "Pangaea (faster start) vs. Archipelgo (more territory)" is still up in the air in my mind. I may set MF looking for pangaea with wet & warm in the meantime. :)

I would go for archi.. some of the larger archipelagos with 60% water are pretty much just one or two landmasses

Denniz,

What was your city count and happy citizen count at 1495 AD. My 1500 AD save had 506 cities and 3197 happy citizens. One of the keys to a high milk score is filling the 66% territory domination limit as early as possible with happy citizens working every available tile. At the end there were 3804 happy citizens every turn after cleaning pollution and returning the citizens to work the old polluted tile.

By do playing CotM of course! :D What did you think I meant? :mischief:

Nah, I'm done with that... :) Most likely time constraints will prevent me from being able to submit before the end-of-the-month deadlines... And the games kind of lost their fun for me, as they tend to be quite similar each month (if you want to compete for the medals anyway).

I though you meant doing other things than civ3?
