Aussie's System isn't Micromanagement, its automation. If you want micromanagement with reguard to intelligence, look at CIV III! You have to order every view of EVERY city, EVERY action, EVERY ETC.

!!! As I said, the model I am proposing already exists in Birth of the Federation and, seriously, once I had allocated points I never really had to give any real thought! The only time I had to look into things was when I had a new 'enemy' I wanted to knobble, then I would adjust the points accordingly! If I could get a screenie of the intelligence screen, I would post it here for you-just to show you how EASY it is!!! I barely use intelligence in Civ3 because of the MM involved, and I CERTAINLY didn't use it much in Civ2!! The big thing in this model is that, as your IP pool increases over time, the new points are automatically allocated according to the percentages you have already determined earlier. So, say you build an improvement that gives you a +50 IP bonus, and you have a 25% allocation to espionage-well 12 IP points will AUTOMATICALLY be distributed into your espionage missions (increasing your success rate by 2% in the process!) Hope this makes sense!!
